Eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven by Uta Ranke-Heinemann Women sexuality and the Catholic Church
Detailing the centuries old oppression of women by the Catholic Church and tracing the pagan roots of ideas like celibacy, contraception and women as the property of men.
This book was condemned by Cardinal O'Connor of New York who likened it to "scrawling dirty words about the Church on bathroom walls". He came to this conclusion without actually reading the book.
No book on the history of the Roman Catholic Church could come with a better recommendation.
